Neptune | sibling folder icon

I've encountered some unusual behavior with the sibling folder navigation, dare I say it - possible bug? The most obvious reason is likely user error on my part, but I'm stumped at the moment.

I'm using the sibling folder feature in one of my sites - both at the main level and in one of the sub-albums. The odd behavior is occurring on the sub-album that has eight folders. After navigating through the eight folders using the sibling folder icon and then clicking the up one level icon to return home, then clicking the home icon to return to the main site, it requires more than one click to return. If I counted right it takes the same number of clicks (on the home icon) that were used when using the sibling folder icons. This doesn't seem to be an issue when navigating the main album, only the sub album.

Link: Photo Gallery
Start here - click the Info icon, then click the Photo Gear Logo. Open any of the folders. If the sibling folder icon is not used then the up arrow/home icons work as anticipated. If the sibling folder icon is used then the home icon must be clicked additionally the number of times the sibling icon was used. I hope I described it correctly.

So ... have I discovered some unanticipated behavior, or have I accidentally created an unexpected feature?

Thanks ...

What is happening is the url is getting extra slashes every time a sibling link is clicked. So after one sibling link being clicked the url becomes https://jret.net/gear//EOSR10/index.html and after two it becomes https://jret.net/gear///RF1435/index.html

Attachment predir.groovy (5.2 KB)
That's something I virtually never use myself, so it was only thinly tested. Either that, or there's been some change in what the jAlbum core is providing from the getChildren() method. I'll have to do some regression testing.

Try swapping out the predir.groovy file in the skin directory for the attached version, and let me know how it's behaving.

It's a change in the core. I'm trying to figure out which version of jAlbum started doing this differently. If I'm correct, this is a problem that will create all sorts of havoc in multiple skins.

This is ringing bells, not sure but I think it could be back when Views and Representing Objects got introduced. I remember having to change code in my skins.

I've posted a bug report. But yes, the change shows up with jAlbum 38, which coincides with the introduction of views. Dog knows what else it's blowing out of the water....

Apologies for discovering a bug ... hopefully not a particularly nasty one. Will wait for a solution. Using the sibling folder feature is cool but definitely not critical to that album.

Related to the website (but not to the bug) - we were in Europe recently and one memorable stop was in Szentendre where we met someone I believe you know. Click Photo Gallery/2026 and scroll down to Image 79. Laza was gracious enough to pick us up at our hotel in Budapest and treat us to a very personal tour of his community.

The modified predir.groovy, posted above, should do the trick.

That puts you one up on me. I've never met Laza. David and Anders, yes, but not Laza!

Today's Neptune release solves the problem using a different approach, so grab that one - version 136.

Updated to 136 - even before I read your message. Thanks again.
