I'm not seeing a change in behavior. In a quick test, keywords entered in the Description panel for a JPG are being saved, and are being used in the album build.

But that panel really needs to be reworked. For non-JPG objects, it lets the user "edit" the entries, but then loses them once the project is closed. That should never happen. Either save the entries, or make the fields "display only."

I was going to suggest ditching the panel entirely, and using only the Details view. But then I discovered that entering things like copyright information in the Details view also fails to save the entries for non-JPG objects. Oddly, in that mode, it actually does save keywords.

This is all a bit of a mess. :(

Really odd, I tried it last night on a jpg and it saved the keywords but thy didn’t get into the info file and didn’t appear in the album. I’ll look again with a different jpg, in might be that particular file.

Either way, it does want reworking and my preference would be to have it read only.

For copyright I’m guessing it goes into metadata and would only work for those objects that the library can read. The fields should only be editable for objects that are supported.

I tried the keywords again and it didn't work, but it does on other images. So I copied the 'bad' image to another project (copy outside of jAlbum) and it works in that project. So it looks like a problem with the project files and not with the function itself. Though the other concerns stilll stand.

For the upcoming release I'm making that editor read-only for non-JPEG images. You can try it here: https://jalbum.net/download/XmpEditor.jaext (place it in jAlbum's ext folder)

Yes, that's an improvement. At least it doesn't let users enter information that's going to vanish in a puff of smoke. I'm sure it will generate some support requests - "Why is this always dimmed out?" We just need to remember to steer them to the Details view, and also to the preferences setting to include copyright and keyword fields in that Explore view.
