iOS photos workflow options

For photos from my iphone, I am looking for the most efficient workflow that allows using the PC or iMac app so I can sort, etc.

I tried the iOS app, which is quick, but cannot figure out how to then access the album in the PC app.

I guess I need to bypass the iOS app, export from iPhone to a shared file space and then get them to the PC?

Anyone have any tips?

Have you tried plugging the phone into the computer and using import from camera?

I always use the Add->From phone feature: https://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/AddFromPhone
If your phone and computer are the same network you scan a QR-code on the phone, gets a webpage to add photos and then upload them directly to the client. Very convenient.
