Albums don't show up on new computer

I've moved from Mac to Mac using migration. had to manually move the album folders, but I put them in the exact place on the new computer. I have pictures in the album file, not linked. when I search for the albums (settings, albums, My albums location) the album folders are there, but they do not show up on the recent project section of the software. When I go to "open album projects" all the folders are there, but the "open" link in the window (bottom right) is opaque. it doesn't what folder or file I highlight to try to open the link stays opaque. Suggestions? Thanks

In the Bonaire 2025 folder, for example, there should be a project file, jalbum-settings.jap. That's what you need to open.

Yes, I did copy the config file over. I'll have to search the old computer for the project files.

Would the file look like this exactly, album-settings.jap. or would it say something about the folder in the name

The file would have a JAP extension (which stands for jAlbum Project). The default name is jalbum-settings.jap, but you can give a project file any name you want, as long as it has the JAP extension. |

That's odd, but it points to a permission problem of some sort.
Instead of trying to open it from within jAlbum, try just launching Finder, navigating to that folder, and double-clicking the file. |

The other possibility is that the file acquired a hidden extra extension, like .txt, so jAlbum doesn't recognize it as a project file. Right-click the file in Finder and select Get Info. Look at the Name & Extension field. Ensure it ends exactly in .jap and that the "Hide extension" box is unchecked so you can see if a hidden extension is causing the issue.

Did you have any problems copying the files from your old Mac to the new one, that could result in corrupted files. Can you open the project on the old Mac, if you still have it?
If the project opens on the old Mac try copying the files again.
If nothing works can you upload the greyed out jAlbum-settings.jap file so we can inspect it.

Is it dimmed out in Finder? I'm not talking about the file chooser within jAlbum - in fact, close jAlbum completely, then navigate to the file in Finder. |

No problems copying files. Yes it does open in the old Mac. Attached is the file
