I don't know if i make something wrong or if it is a feature request: Is it possible to add an empty page to a view folder (like i can a add an empty page to a regular folder)? This would be helpful thus the view index page looks in the same layout as the regular index page.

Nothing can be added to a view or its subfolders, it has been designed that way.

A view index page should look the same as an ordinary folder's index page unless the skin designer has decided to make them look different.

Hi Rob. Thanks for your reply. Okay, so it's not possible. But as you can see, views are differerent (thus i can‘t insert a text): Example

You could put those views in a folder and add the empty page to the folder. The page could then say each of the views contains pictures from different seasons. That's as close as you can get - and it would, presumably, reduce duplication of essentially the same text

Hi Rob. Thanks for your suggestion. However, this isn't a solution for me, as I'm also including the content of the empty page into each separate slide page of the corresponding folder.

Note: I don't expect you to understand the reasoning behind my approach. :-)

For this, we are thankful.

But at least at this stage, a user doing custom modifications to pages generated by views isn't possible. The skin templates could be modified to add content to every page they create, but that would require some coding skills. With some skins, that would be a very tall order, indeed.

ETA: On the other hand, most skins provide you with a way to insert your own code into the pages they create. You can often add material to the <head> section and/or to the <body> section.

Yes, I know that. But in my case the own code has to be different depending on the folder (I include the empty page of the folder). I use tiger skin and I modify the slide.htt according to my needs. This works basically perfect, regardless of whether the slide page is generated from a "normal folder album" or a "view folder album". The only difference is that the content of the empty page is not included in the "view slides". That's logical, since I apparently can't insert an empty page into the "view folder".

So it is indeed a feature request. ;-)
