Thanks, I'll try that when I get a chance.

Unfortunately, I'm currently having a problem where jAlbum has reverted to version 37.6, and when I try to reinstall update 38.2, the installation aborts, and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 opens in File Explorer?!

PS: This problem is unrelated to this topic, and I don't have the patience to solve it right now. :-)

I've moved this to the bugs forum, it sounds like a problem with the new installer.

What if you uninstall jAlbum completely (Also check that no files are left under C:\Program Files\JAlbum), then run the installer?

Time to clean house. This looks long and involved, but actually takes about two minutes:

Thanks a lot, Jeff! Your instructions solved the problem. By the way: When I uninstalled jAlbum (via Control Panel, Programs and Features), I saw that both version 37.6.1 and version 38.2.1 have been installed.

Windows really, really doesn't want you to have two versions of the same app on your machine. Strange things start happening. And if you uninstall just one of them, the file associations tend to get lost, and File Explorer suddenly doesn't know what to do with a .jap or .jaskin file.

With all the beta (and sometimes alpha) testing that I do, I have to do the "cleanup" routine pretty regularly.
