Just started running into an odd bug with video thumbnails. If I add a video to a project, the thumbnail initially is just a "red X" error. Save, close project, re-open project, and the thumbnail is fine. Screenshots.
ETA: This is with 38rc22

Seems to be Windows only. macOS Tahoe, it's OK.

BTW, this is exceedingly random, which suggests that there's some sort of "race" condition occurring.

Now I'm having video problems when remaking older projects. If I have an MOV file, it gets processed as an MP4, but the videoPath is pointing to the MOV file in the root, rather than to slides/name.mp4. The original is not being included, so that's not there.
ETA: An MP4 source file does not produce the same error.

It's a case problem. myvideo.MOV fails, but myvideo.mov works properly,
This doesn't fix the thumbnail problem, but at least I don't get a broken album.
ETA: And myvideo.MP4 fails, but myvideo.mp4 works properly. At least it's consistent!
ETA: Sorry for all the edits, but I keep finding out new things. The case problem occurs on macOS Tahoe, as well as Windows.

Yes, I had never seen either of these problems before. In fact, I don't think I ran into them in earlier release candidates. I don't keep all of the jalbum-core.jar files, so I can't track down which one started causing the trouble. But I'm pretty sure I would have noticed them fairly quickly - I've done a bunch of skin updates during all of this which involve a lot of test projects and regeneration of demo albums.
And I'm not sure if they both showed up at the same time - the thumbnail display glitch and the file extension case error. They may be completely unrelated.
The casing problem should be easy, since it's totally consistent, and across both platforms.

Yes, the truly bad one is gone. 
The thumbnail glitch is purely a display problem. The album builds without complaint. It just makes you think that there's something wrong with the video, when there isn't.
In fact, a quick F5 resolves it, even after you've just added the video to the project. |

BTW, the nasty video path problem provides an illustration of "Total Validator Pro to the Rescue!" I might not have noticed it at all, but after regenerating my big "travels" album, I fed it to TV Pro, which quickly found a dozen broken links on pages. Didn't take long to track it down.
I can't say enough about how worthwhile this app is. With a pro license, I can check all 600+ pages of my skin demo site (which includes all the user manual pages) with one click, in less than a minute. And that's on an aging Dell desktop. Written in Java, too!
