Is that an option that can be switched off? I'm sure users won't want objects from hidden folders included as some use them to store originals.

I agree. "Hidden" should mean "hidden," not just partially concealed.

Which such massive opposition to this, I'll revert to the previous behaviour, until users call for an option.

BTW, I've updated the Javadocs: https://jalbum.net/api/

Among other places, you'll find new API calls in IO and AlbumObject. Look for "38"

Hey, RobM! He's getting weak in his old age. We've got him on the ropes!! Who knew that a pair of septuagenarian bullies had such power?

It would be a nice per-project option. With that, a user could replicate what Structures did - for example, hide all of the folders, and generate only an alphabetic view.

I agree, that's why I changed the default to include hidden objects first. Now rc31 is available (including updated texts.properties), which includes an option under Settings-Advanced. This update also paints a red "X" on broken views and fixes bug with video thumbnails not appearing when adding video files.

I also took the liberty to add two more custom scripts for the custom view:
  • Macro lens shots (150mm)
  • Top rated

That should cover the waterfront nicely. No one can complain about the loss of Structures, since a user can now replicate that functionality. (Well, almost - there's just one wrinkle that I need to mull over for a bit.)

This update... fixes bug with video thumbnails not appearing when adding video files.

Yes, the mysterious "red X" video thumbnails appear to be gone! :)

Only yesterday did I add a third party top rated, nearly mentioned it as an obvious candidate for the built in templates. Going to remove it soon. :)

Well it was, apparently, 100% of beta testers that gave that feedback ;)

If there's a view in a hidden folder, my skins are seeing it during earlyinit.groovy. If a view is not in a hidden folder, it's converted to a folder before my skins encounter it.

I know, who in his right mind would do such a thing? And as before, I could just explicitly allow Category.view, tag my skins as requiring jAlbum 38, and move on.

rc32 out, fixing nasty side effects when using a custom filter that refers to the variables of an album object.

Maybe it's just magic, but rc32 appears to fix this weird little side effect.

And I was only half-kidding about calling the release jAlbum 2026! Makes much more of a splash.

That's fixed the error when using the contents template.

Must be nearly ready for formal release :)

Unlike when adding, when I edit a view it doesn't open in a pop-up window; instead, it opens in full screen. There are also no OK or Cancel buttons when editing. All changes are implemented immediately. Could this be improved in a future version?

Yes, but I don't get what you mean by full screen. It simply flips to edit view mode
