Upload a album in the cloud without using FTP

Hello,

I'm asking for your opinion on a situation that may not be very common. I'm currently evaluating using pCloud (https://www.pcloud.com) as my cloud hosting provider. I've discovered that pCloud can host static websites (see https://www.pcloud.com/help/web-help-center/what-is-the-public-folder for details). As far as I know, there's no server-side code running in our albums, correct? If so, it seems to me that pCloud would be suitable for hosting albums produced by jAlbum...

The main problem I'm facing is that pCloud doesn't support FTP or its variants, so I won't be able to use jAlbum's uploader.

That said, and unless I'm mistaken, I think that the contents of an album's destination folder (the one opened when you press Ctrl+Shift+O) should be the exact same as what is uploaded to a regular Web server (it even has the lifeboat.zip file in it, nice :) ). So, I'm thinking that if I sync this folder to the cloud (sync in the cloud sense -- rsync for Linux users), in mirror copy mode, I should end up with a functional website. Does my reasoning seem correct to you?

I would have liked to test it directly myself, but I can't do it yet :(

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

I can't speak for pCloud, but in general a provider that can serve static files can host an album made using jAlbum. Amazon/AWS S3+Cloudfront works for example great.

And yes, it's the content of the destination folder you should upload.

As long as pCloud doesn't do any strange things with mimetypes, I can't see any flaw in your reasoning.
