Once I find the right place, I'm sure he'll feel much more at home:

https://heritage-hills-condos.com/models/

Huge place, but almost all single-story homes, built into heavily wooded hillsides. Happily, the people who bought my house paid stupid money for it, so my options are a bit broader than I had anticipated.

Not much in the way of birch trees in my current digs - Summit photo. Surrounded by woods, but from most of the apartments, like mine, you'd never know it - View photo, before the snow melted. At 1.2 million square feet, it's the kind of place where I can go for a one-mile stroll before bedtime without ever leaving the building, and almost without having to retrace my steps. Got lost a few times during the first week.

This one is even more impressing:

Yeah, but I'll bet those big ones weren't autographed by David and Anders. And unlike mine, they've never been to Manhattan. Mine was given to me by Anders in a restaurant a couple of blocks from Times Square!

That is for sure. :-)

Every time I'm on my way through Sweden to Norway I think I'll probably run into David (in a hotel or restaurant) just on a journey going skiing. :-)

I have not yet seen that, MacBook Air M2, but it does appear to happen with other apps. Maybe this post will shed some light on the subject.

I believe the security setting turned off does stop ffmpeg being updated.

I deleted ffmpeg and then ran an older version of jAlbum, which installed an older version of ffmpeg without the security alert being activated. I then turned turned jalbum off in the app management setting and then launched the current beta. Ffmpeg was not updated. I quit jAlbum and turned the security setting back on, then relaunched the beta and got the notice in the status bar ffmpeg was being updated. Checked the file in the system os and ffmpeg was now the current version.

Manually deleting ffmpeg is not the same as jAlbum deleting it, and jAlbum installing a 'new' version is not actually 'deleting/updating an old version.

So, I'm leaving it turned on now and will add a note to the wiki. I on't know if other os' will follow Apple or not, so the note will be specific for Apple. I believe this feature was introduced in mac OS Ventura 13, so something must have been 'tightened' since then.

How far back would I have to go to test this?

I went back to 35.1 Intel version. There was only a minor difference the main one being it didn't include the 'arch=arm64' hardware acceleration component.

What exactly is better? I don't see any change. What could be better is to increase the height of the search bar, so you don't have to scroll in that list. See attached screen shot.

* The full screen review mode now displays camera metadata (hover the mouse over the file name to reveal, click to pin)
That is very nice. Thanks.

See https://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/Welcome#Search
Notice the search now opens in a popup window.

It did that before as well, well it's actually a popup layer you can dismiss by clicking outside the search bar. What has changed in this version is that the search ba has got a fat rounded border.

Ah, I'd got how the search in the settings window looks in my head. Old age kicking in!
