Hi. We're now just a few days from releasing v37.2. Here's the beta:
Changes:
- Better visual style for search bar
- Thumbnails are now updated as one changes RAW settings
- The thumbnail context menu now allows RAW image settings to be copied, pasted and reset
- The full screen review mode now displays camera metadata (hover the mouse over the file name to reveal, click to pin)
- The camera tab of the Edit view has been updated
- The camera settings now also show correctly for Nikon RAW files and other files storing EXIF data using multiple segments
Installers:
Windows: https://jalbum.net/download/jAlbum-install.exe
Mac (Intel): https://jalbum.net/download/jAlbum.dmg
Mac (M-series): https://jalbum.net/download/jAlbum-M.dmg

* Better visual style for search bar
The search bar in explore mode now has a popup search field, but the search bar in the 'settings' window does not. Is this to be changed too?
No, I intentionally only polished the visual design of the main search bar, so it's more "spotlight" like, as it looks everywhere.

I'm guessing you know about the missing texts for the raw settings contextual menu
Ah, I missed one English text key for the Mac version.

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say 'The camera tab of the settings window'?
Is this the camera tab in edit mode, which I think is what you mean with 'The camera settings now also show correctly for Nikon RAW files...'.

David, just one stupid question from someone who never really worked with raw images. Since last year I do take JPG and RAW photos with my camera (Canon EOS R10). But in jAlbum I've never seen the RAW files?
I never found out what to do to see also the RAW photos. What I'm doing wrong?
TIA, Cheers Markus

True. I miswrote.

jAlbum will only show the JPEGs if you pass jAlbum a mix of JPEG and RAW files with the same base name. To see the RAW files, move the JPEGs aside or link-drag the RAW files onto jAlbum.

I was puzzled by that one, too.

I don't know what it references either. We don't touch other apps, but we do download ffmpeg.exe in the background if you use video. Perhaps it refers to that? If you keep it off, please report what breaks

I thought that might be what it was referring to, but leaving that permission turned off, I deleted ffmpeg, and when I relaunched jAlbum, it dutifully reinstalled it without complaint. So, still a mystery.

I personally feel Apple's latest security updates are annoying. Eventually the whole computer will be shut down. With all these warnings popping up all the time, I bet you'll become desensitized to real threats in the future.

And they'll never go away. EU sites (and a depressing number of US sites, as well) are still putting up cookie warnings. No one pays any attention to them - it's just an annoyance that has to be clicked to dismiss. And it has had no effect whatsoever on companies harvesting information about their site visitors, since they always have "permission" to do so.
I'm renting an apartment in CT while I condo-hunt 20 minutes away, in NY. The leasing site puts up a cookie warning. They're not doing business outside of the US, and I think it extremely unlikely that their site is getting any visitors from anywhere else, either. I'd like to have a chat with their IT guys.
The jAlbum pony is standing guard, but finds this urban environment highly unsettling. Photo attached.
