Can I downgrade from 34.3 to 34.2 by installing previous version?

Hello,
My Bad I Guess....
My license was valid through release 34.2 (which is what I was running yesterday).
Today, I installed 34.3 thinking that the license was valid for all "releases" of 34.x
I am now getting a license watermark.
Q: Can I just re-install 34.2 to re-activate my licensed version of jAlbum or is there an way to downgrade to a supported version?
BTW: jAlbum is one of the few SW products that I really enjoy and highly recommend!

Can't hurt to give it a try, and downloading is free. Download from here, and install it:
https://jalbum.net/en/software/download/previous/version/34.2
If the installer complains about a newer version being present, just uninstall 34.3 first. You won't lose any of your settings, projects, etc.

If you are on a mac or Linux just delete the installed app and then download the older version.
If you are on Windows I think you need to run the un-installer and the install again - registry related. For Windows I don't know what is un-installed, so I'd make sure you have a backup of your files. Maybe this will help:

If you enjoy it and highly recommend it why not upgrade to the current version?
There have been a lot of changes and improvements since 34.2

It's safe to run the jAlbum uninstaller on Windows. You can even wipe all files under C:\Program\jAlbum. Your settings and projects won't be affected as they are stored under My Documents\My Albums and %APPDATA%\JAlbum

You can even wipe all files under C:\Program\jAlbum.
In fact, you often need to. If you've ever done a core update from within jAlbum, the Windows registry doesn't know about that, and often won't delete the newer core file, which just makes trouble later.

Based on your responses, I un-installed jAlbum, renamed the program files/jAlbum folder, and re-installed 34.2.1. It started as expected and displayed a "your now licensed" message. After a update restart it appears to function as expected.
I generally hesitate to renew licenses yearly unless there is a new feature or bug fix for the product. I've renewed jAlbum twice already.
My Adobe Photoshop Elements v13 subscription is still running just fine as an extreme example of SW that is now 10+ years old. I've wanted to upgrade to a newer version but Adobe's licensing model does not allow perpetual ownership anymore and it's pricy too.
Some day I'll need to find a new tool that can manage photo inventories and provide the ability to (bulk) edit file collections. May be jAlbum will eventually be enhanced to be that tool too (wishing).
jAlbum will eventually be upgraded again in the next year or 3 since it's a nifty tool...
Thanks for the feedback.

It's kind of a bootstrapping issue, particularly with a very small company like jAlbum (only three employees). New development is paid for by people renewing their licenses.

What kind of bulk editing are you looking for? jAlbum has basic image editing that can be applied to batches of images using <context menu>Image tools->Copy and <context menu>Image tools->Paste.

Image Bulk Editing

After taking dozens of images at an event using my Nikon stored RAW, Photoshop Elements is used to open up small collections of about 6-12 (that are typically exposed the same). I can then bulk-adjust using PSE's raw photo editor such as exposure and other common settings such as color, brightness, shadows/highlights, black level and saturation, and perform rough cropping. Then, using the built in PSE editor (photoshop lite) I fine tune the picture.
The PSE editor has a Process Multiple Files capability allowing bulk rename, re-size proportionally, and export-as jpg/png in a new event-named folder. I repeat this process until all photos of the event have been processed.
jAlbum is then used to link the folder and it's images into nested album projects. It works well.
If jAlbum had RAW camera edit functionality that could process multiple images simultaneously and also had a Process Multiple Files widget I could replace my PSE tool...
Oh, I also extensively use PSE's "tagging" capability to write data into images. It keeps a db of tags allowing me to very quickly filter by people/event/place tag names that I maintain.
Thanks for the help and feedback!

Good idea! I'll ensure that we support that as well.

Have you played with jAlbum's tagging and filtering mechanism? It handles images in batch as well.

Had a few minutes to review jAlbum's "tagging" capability. I was not aware of this since it's not obvious in the menu options.
What I do in PSE today:
- I select a group of photos in PSE
- Open it's TAG capability
- Create new tags as needed: Places, People, Events, etc.
- Drag one-or-more TAGS onto images (PSE initially tracks using internal DB like jAlbum?)
- Select: File -> Write Tags To Image File(s)
For the long term, I am hesitant to depend on the PSE (or jAlbum) database as it will become corrupt at some time over many decades. I want tags that are physically written into the image file, as those hopefully will be able to be correctly imported in any future image management tool. I want to make sure that I can again filter a 30+ year old image library based on previously-assigned tags.

I have also just updated an external tool
https://jalbum.net/forum/thread.jspa?messageID=349180񕏼
It will add/change a flag to an image that contains a named tag, or if no name target is entered it just lists all tags for all tagged images to the System console. Handy if you can't remember a tag name.

jAlbum 37.2 beta now has this functionality. Just edit a RAW image, then return to thumbnail view. Now select target RAW images and right-click and select RAW settings->Paste.
