What's the best strategy to publish a part of your album

I have an album with several folders of which I only want to publish a part on my domain. Until now I use the hide folder feature to do that, but of course it still uploads the hidden folders as well.
Is there a better strategy to do this, without having duplicate albums?

Correct

Select a folder and then hit the minus key to exclude it from the album.

Make sure you have Synchronise output directory set under preferences > projects
