Possible V37 Issue?

I don't think you'll need a test project from me to see this one but it occurred immediately after installing V37.

In your own test album, go to any subfolder (and this only occurs IN subfolders not main folders,) that contains images and move one of them to a different position. As soon as you release the mouse button, JA reverts back to what I would describe as the "home screen" where only the projects are listed. This takes you away from the folder you were re-organizing and if more rearranging is needed, you have to go through the steps to expand the folders to get back to the one you were just in.

I may be the oddball here by moving images around but this procedure had worked perfectly until 37 was installed and the focus would remain in that original folder after the files are moved around IN that folder or, moved TO another folder. That no longer is the case.

Try it, I think you'll see what I mean without me attaching anything as I don't believe it's specific to my installation and it also occurs on my test album.

Yes, I can replicate that rather irritating behavior! ;)

I was trying to be nice, Jeff :=) but it is definitely irritating if you need to do a lot of rearranging. Glad it's not my dumb *ss for a change. <smile>

That was, of course, my first suspicion.

But I always test before accusing. ;)

Thanks for reporting. Really annoying that I/we didn't spot this obvious one during beta testing :-(. I highly suspect it's related to the rewritten folder UI painting, but I have to dig into it to know the exact cause.

I'll push out a service fix as soon as we've addressed this.

Many thanks, David and I too was surprised this one wasn't nailed during beta. My thinking is, not a great many use subfolders or perhaps, don't rearrange albums..I don't know but I'll be happily standing by for a fix and TIA.

"That was, of course, my first suspicion."

I laughed and laughed, Jeff and of course I know you'd think it was me after all my previous blunders here but it is SO true. <grin>

I've now reverted to the classic folder tree painting, i.e. it doesn't try to be smart and only paint triangles for sub folders containing sub folders. This is fast as well, and the behaviour we've had until v36.1.

I'll probably reinstate the "clever" triangle painting in the near future, but only after careful investigation on what caused this trouble in the first place.

All installers are silently updated now and users who have downloaded v37 automatically gets the fix to v37.0.2

Bless you, David as I had given up trying to organize a multitude of folders. Just got the critical update for 37.02 and all I can say is, thank you, thank you, thank you, I'm back in business!

You're welcome. Again, I'm embarrassed that this obvious bug could slip through. I'll be doing more testing before attempting to re-insert this folder discovery mechanism.
