Hi,
When I open jAlbum, I always receive a warning message about release notes for Mercury 54 with a sound.
I am running jAlbum 36.1 and Mercury skin 105.

This is now lasting for months !
How can I get rid of it, please.

Moving to the other skins forum, this must be something left over from the old version of Mercury. Is Mercury set as your default skin?

Yes Rob, it was set as default skin, but just changing the default skin to another one didn't solve the problem, the message was showing each time I selected Mercury as project skin.

So I manually discarded the Mercury skin, and let jAlbum reinstall it when prompted... and the problem seems to be solved. The new Mercury folder is exactly the same as the previous one, so I suppose that some kind of flag was reset somewhere.

Thanks.

Glad it is sorted. Jeff might have an explanation as to what might have caused the warnings, maybe skipping a version update or something.

When you load Mercury, it checks to see if the settings are from a version before Mercury 54, and puts up a warning message if they are. At some point in the past, when you were using an older version of Mercury, you saved those settings as the default, and the version number got saved with it.

To make the warning message go away, you just needed to save the current settings as your default (and maybe also as your skin default). That would save the newer version number with the settings, and the warning message would go away.

Indeed, the old version of "Mercury-default.jap" had "skin.versionSerial=25000" as value, even if I was on version 105.

The new file now has the 105 value.
