One character for a keyword does not work as expected.
Posted: 9 Dec 24, 19:03

Hi,

using only one character for a keyword does not work as expected.

I use the character ā€žZā€œ for some pictures of my car:

But they don't show up in the keyword list:

Nevertheless you can use that keyword:

I'm using JA "36.0.4", and Tiger "Version 5.13.1".

Would be cool if this could be fixed. TIA, cheers, Markus

Single characters cannot be searched because doing so would return too many results. In your album, none of the words start with Z but try N, for example.

This really is a surprise to me. I thought that that using a tag with a name "pete" will only show objects which have the word "pete" but not the word "peter".

And the confusion even gets bigger, because why are all these objects shown by using "N"? Many objects don't start with an "N" anyway.

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding, I was referring to "tags", I'm not talking about the "search" function.

Cheers, Markus

Helpful
I must admit, I was surprised, too, because of the long list of unrelated results.

Anyway, clicking any tag brings up the correct results.

The rule that the search term must have at least two characters came from the normal search, but I kept it for the label search. The label search uses the same routines but is configured a bit differently. I will lift this restriction for the keywords and see how it works.

Hi Laza,

I'm using Tiger 6.4.4. and we again have the problem that one character key words do not appear in the tag list, as you can see here. The ā€žZā€œ is missing. But it still works as an URL:
https://www.markus-drueck.de/norge/index.html#label=Z

Have I done something wrong?

Thanks in advance, Markus

Sorry, this is a side-effect of filtering 1-letter special characters. Even though "Z" is not special, the code was wrong. I will release an update today.
