preview JAlbum 36.1

I have put the settings to preview type windowed.
This works very well.
The e-mail states that you can preview in the browser by Alt-click the preview button. This does not work. Alt-click preview button does nothing.
The only way to preview in the browser is click on the preview external button in the windowed preview.
Not urgent, but I thought I mention it to just get my experience confirmed.

If you close the preview in the integrated or windowed browser, doing an ALT-click on the Preview icon launches the external browser.
Both the integrated and windowed browser have their own icon for launching the external browser - see screenshot.

ALT clicking the preview button, next to the ‘Make album’ button opens the preview in the browser instead of the window preview. In the window preview ALT clicking the ‘Local’ button opens the album in the browser.
All documented here

This is in the 'documented here' you mentioned in your answer:
"-Open in external browser
Switches from jAlbum’s integrated browser to your default browser. This opens the same page as is currently displayed in the integrated browser. You can also hold Alt/Opt while clicking the normal preview button (to the right of the Make button) to open in an external browser.-"
That last part is what I reported as not working.

the button (as in your picture) for external preview is only visible in the windowed preview. If I close the windowed preview. there is only the preview button next to the make album button.

Isn't that what I said?

It is working for me on my Mac. You are holding ALT down and then clicking the button?

The full story is a bit more tangled than that.
In Windows, if you're seeing the integrated preview, ALT-click on the Preview button takes you back to the Explore view. If you're seeing the windowed preview, ALT-click just brings the preview window to the foreground again.
In macOS, if you're seeing the integrated preview, OPT-click takes you back to the Explore view. If you're seeing the windowed preview, OPT-click launches the external browser.
This is why I just use the external browser at all times. Much less drama.

That’s a bit awkward for the wiki, I can’t update all of the shortcut differences and I’m not getting a Windows or Linux PC. I could specify shortcuts are based on a Mac and may differ on another OS.

I'd keep it even simpler.
If you are not currently in preview mode, ALT/OPT-clicking on the Preview icon launches the external browser, rather than the integrated or windowed browser.
No reason to go down the rabbit hole.

I've added that as a note to the preview page of the wiki. But there are keyboard shortcuts all over the wiki and of course there is the keyboard shortcuts page itself. I'll just assume they are all ok unless someone reports otherwise.

Yes, you did, but on my Linux system the preview button next to the Make Album button does not open the external preview with Alt/Click. It does nothing (at least in the viewer's side). A normal click opens the windowed preview, as announced it would.
I just mentioned it, because it differed from the announcement.
I'll just use the external preview button from the (windowed) preview window.

If I left-ALT click the preview button on Ubuntu and Fedora Linux, then it opens with the external browser.

On my Mac, OPT-clicking (either OPT key) brings up the external browser. Investigate whether you're having any "accessibility" features activated.

To be clear, this happens only when you are currently seeing the preview in the integrated browser. ALT/OPT-clicking on the Preview icon to the right of Make album returns you to the Explore view. If you then do the same action again, while you're currently seeing the Explore view, it launches the external browser.
This is consistent between Windows and macOS. I can't speak to what it does in Linux, of course.
