I assume you mean hide certain folders and images, you can only hide folders, see https://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/Explore#Hide

I don’t think any skin will search for hidden folder, but I’ll move this to the Tiger forum as that is the skin you seem to be using.

No, unfortunately, the Search function does not search in hidden folders.

It seems an odd thing to do, hide something but make it easy to find. I’m struggling to find a reason why one would want to do this.

Glad I'm not the only one. It's like playing "hide and seek" with a toddler, who tells you where he's going to hide. ;)

Theres plenty of reasons to make something only visible to someone whos specifically looking for it.
All the folders in my album match a certain theme, and i dont want unrelated folders to show up on the main-page together with the themed folders, but i still need them to be accessible somehow.

Well, I'm sure you have perfectly valid reasons for doing this, but the answer is still that the app and the skin don't support it. In jAlbum, a hidden folder is hidden, from everything. The only way to get to it is if someone has provided you with the URL.

Split the album so themed folders are in one and the rest in another. Then make a master album to link the two sub albums. With Tiger each sub album will have its own search, so images from the other sub album won’t show up. Searching from the master album will only show items in that album, webLocation links to the other albums and any template pages used in the master.

If you want to search sub albums from a master album there is only one skin that does that.
