The rest of us haven't seen the green boxes in months. In fact, it's surprisingly difficult to get them to reappear - even a complete uninstall/reinstall doesn't trigger them again.

Head for the system console, execute:
UsageCounters.print()
And post the results here.

I'm not quite sure why there is a reluctance to just allow users to toggle off all sounds.
I don't want them, ever.
Some people will. Let's have a choice?
skin selected=17
signin presented=1
signin=7
open project=5
show settings=1
make album=26
bg signin=6
start=6
resolution=6
signout=1
searchSupport=2
0.002s ==> null

It appears that your real complaint isn't with the sounds, which are almost nonexistent, but with the green box that encourages you to use the search bar. I don't understand why that isn't going away for you.
And I'm still puzzled by your claim that you're hearing a sound when the album build is finished. I can't imagine where that's coming from.
(A side note - on a Windows machine, one thing that will screw this up is installing Java updates, like Java 8u421. The Java updater wipes out the Java Preferences node in the registry, and that's where jAlbum keeps track of this stuff. These days, there's generally no reason to have Java installed on a PC at all. The few apps that need Java bundle it themselves.)

I've just built an album and it didn't bong!
It did throw up a green box though
As I said my problem is the bongs not the popups.
I have ADHD and sounds are a trigger for me. As sounds go these aren't too bad but I'd still rather not have them.
I haven't updated java. I don't think I even have it installed any more, probably not for a couple of years. In fact I know I haven't as this machine was new a few months ago.

Open the system console and execute UsageCounters.increase("search"). That should turn off the search bubble

Should be searchBar not just search

etc.....
That's a suspiciously short list. I get at least three times as many counters. Perhaps David can shed some light on that aspect of things.
It almost suggests that some other software (some security bloatware, for example) is "helpfully" clearing the nodes.

I don't think I've used it that much since I got the new machine.
The only security software I have running is windows defender
I do run CCleaner manually. I'll check to see if that is clearing anything from Jalbum
I just looked and Jalbum is not on the list of apps that it does anything with.

I think it should be searchSupport. This, of course, is the joy of working without an API. We're flying blind.

I’ve reminded David of the lack of an API and asked for a call that shows unused, that is a count of 0, null or empty - whichever it should be. I also updated my post a few minutes before you post this. It took a bit of searching to find the right post for the correct value (supplied by you)

But there's no searchBar in the printout list. This has changed since the discussion back in April, when it was certainly part of the list.

In that case we are in the hands of the Scandinavian God of Java
