I have an old version 11.6.14 (due to old customized skins that don't work on a new version) and a newer one 34.3.

There is weird interaction between the two versions.

A new version makes changes in jAlbum projects that are created and used only by an old version. And it happens even if a new version is used for quite different projects located in a different folder structure.

E.g., the folder structure of an album with an old version:

---Trip-1
---Trip-2

After creating the album with an old version and then starting a new version with a different project, for some reason, the files meta.properties, comments.properties, albumfiles.txt are moved from the sub-folder Trip-1 into the Trip-1/.jalbum sub-folder and, as a result, an old version can not find these files anymore. And this happens only for the first sub-folder of the album. In Trip-2 folder, everything remains without changes. It's a mystery how a new version finds out that there are jAlbum files somewhere in a directory structure and decides to make changes.

This is a big problem by using both version in a multiple folder structure. It is necessary to go through the album folders and move these files to the right place.

Also in the recent projects pane, the projects from both versions are mixed together.

jAlbum 16 onwards have those files ‘hidden’ under the .jAlbum folders. If you are using a folder of images in more than one project, with different versions of jAlbum you will have problems.

You could update the customised skins to work with the latest version of jAlbum, ensure your projects don’t use the same folders or just change to a modern skin. Skins as old as you are using will not be responsive to different displays.
