Google Maps API problem

Just started happening within the last week or two. Not aware of any changes I made.
In the "location" box on the photo "edit" page, I'm getting "sorry we have no imagery here". (see attachment).
Maps display successfully when uploaded to my website so the Google api key stuff is all correct. It's just this bit that has stopped working.
Any ideas, please?

I'm seeing the same thing. The actual Google map does appear, but for only a second or so. Then it's replaced by the "no imagery" message.
It can't have anything to do with your API Key - that isn't used within the application, but only within the albums you produce. I don't know what's under the hood, as it were.

I am having the same problem with map images. Using latest version 34.1 and it started a couple of weeks ago.

That feature has always been a bit kludgy, but it's better than nothing. I'll bet I know who gets stuck with the job of figuring out why it has stopped working. Name starts with "A." 
In the meantime, anyone have good recommendations for an app to make geotagging easy? The old Picasa app was fabulous at it, since it was seamlessly integrated with Google maps, and was a freebie. |

It's almost impossible to install, because MS Defender thinks it's a virus. The developers know about it, so maybe they can convince MS that it's a false positive. |

You can download GUI from here. GUI doesn't need to be "installed". Just unzip ExifToolGUI.zip file into any directory, create Desktop shortcut and GUI is ready to use.
Note: It is not recommended to put ExifToolGUI.exe into directories owned by operating system (Windows and Program files), unless you know what you're doing.
So, if you didn't already, just create new directory on C drive (i.e. C:\MyTools), put ExifToolGUI.exe there and create Desktop shortcut.
GUI doesn't write anything into registry file or elsewhere. After first usage, all settings are written into "ExifToolGUI.ini" file, which is automatically created in the same folder where "ExifToolGUI.exe" has been started from.’ |

It looks like MS Defender now accepts that the V633 installer is no virus. Today I was able to download and install it without virus reports. But.... Now another problem has revealed. ExifTool by Phil Harvey has changed, and as a consequence the installer is not able to download and install automatically. ExifTool provided by Oliver Betz still works.
I'm working on a solution, but it will require changing the installer.‘

That one is truly ancient, comes with its own problems, primary among them being that it can't seem to find the underling command line executable, which it needs.
This is what makes me a little crazy about some developers, and the github people in particular. They just don't have a clue about how to provide the software to users. Just finding the download on a lot of github sites is a challenge. No problem if you want to grab the source code, branch it, compile it yourself, etc., etc. Unusable. |

Finally got the old version of ExifGUI to launch without fatal errors, and figured out how to enable the Google maps functionality. That, of course, promptly fails because of all kinds of scripting errors.
Strike this one off the list. Junk.

Not much help if what you're after is the ability to find a spot on a map, and plant GPS coordinates in the image's metadata corresponding to that spot. If your images aren't already geotagged, you don't have the coordinates.

One could use their phone or tablet to get the location. Or just wait for this bug to be fixed.
