I'm not sure whether this is a question related to the application or the Tiger skin(both latest versions), but I have a query about searching within file names. I am trying to search for specific parts of file names, such as 'FIA' or 'Genk', in names like '240512FIAGenkRace1-0001.jpg'.

However, whether I use search terms with or without asterisks (e.g., FIA or Genk), I receive no results. Does the search function not work with substrings, or is there a specific syntax I need to use?

No, the search tries to match the beginning of the words, but not inside. That would yield tons of junk results. Anyway, using the file name as a data source is not the best choice. Why don't you use keywords or a more descriptive title "24-05-12 FIA Genk Race 1"? That would allow the search to find any part of the string.

Okay, too bad it doesn't work via the file names.

Currently, keywords is not feasible yet within our workflow.these are the file names we use (with multiple photographers)
date-organisation-location-photographer-uniecephotonumber

we have weekly +4000 photo's and creating the jAlbum's by commandline/scrips.

Not sure if this would help but mentioning it just in case. external tool to extract data from file names

It takes the filename of an object and manipulates it, applying the result to either the title or keywords fields.

It splits compound words and words separated by '_', so 'TwelveMonkeys' will result in 'Twelve Monkeys'; 'SOME123OtherText'' will result in 'SOME123 Other Text'.

Numbers can be split into words, so 'SOME123OtherText'' will result in 'SOME 123 Other Text'.

The dashes and underscore characters are treated as word delimiters, so "date-organisation-location-photographer-uniecephotonumber" would work.
