Hello friends. When I add new photos to my album, the image on the main page changes to one of the recent photos. How can I set it up so this either remains the same until I change it, or how can I easily change the photo? Attached us a screenshot of the image I mean.

In the Explore view, just click and drag whichever image you want to use for the thumbnail (profile page thumbnail, folder thumbnail in a multi-level project), and whichever image you want to use for the theme image to the corresponding boxes on the right. Screenshot.

Your choices won't be changed unless you delete the image in question.

Thank you, Jeff. what happened is that the changes I was making were not showing up in the preview after I made the album. Once I uploaded it, the changes did show.

I disagree with the comment that the images do not change unless you delete them. Every time I add folders and images and make the album, it takes one of the new images the landing page image. I'll just have to keep my eye on that and reset it back to the image I want.

thanks again for confirming

First, never use the integrated browser for previews. It is unreliable. Always use a real browser to preview your changes:

And when previewing the album in your browser, hit CTRL-F5 (Windows) to force a browser cache refresh (you can't force the integrated browser to refresh its cache, other than by exiting jAlbum entirely and relaunching it).

You can disagree all you like, but I have literally never seen that happen. But if you just let the default setting take over, I suppose it could. Go to Settings > Advanced > General, and uncheck Use thumbnail for folder icon. This will, in effect, force you to make a conscious choice for what image to use, rather than letting jAlbum automatically grab the first image in the folder. And once you've made those manual selections, trust me, they won't change by themselves.

I believe the representing thumbnail image CAN change if you add new images to a folder (depending on image ordering settings), but this happens only if you've never explicitly set the preferred representing image. Once you've dragged and dropped your desired representing image as folder thumbnail, it should stick. (You can alternatively right-click the desired representing image and select "Use as folder thumbnail")
