jAlbum 34.2.1-Java 20, 64bit / Tiger 5.3.0

I've updated an album with some images and 2 video's. It now has 4 video's, all 4 of them are showing the video (player button) overlay on their thumbnails and 3 of them are showing the video controls when clicked on the thumbnail. ...but one video doesn't, when clicked on the thumbnail it opens normally but without the controls, clicked on it plays normally, clicked on it, it stops and the controls are showing.
This problem was mentioned earlier in this forum but I didn't see a possible solution and for me it's the first time and only with 1 video.

See:
(Link to the album removed)
The first video on row 1 works fine. The second video, on the same row has the problem.

15.11 uur:
I'm now uploading it with the auto starts video option checked.

As I see, every video now starts automatically, and the controls disappear within half of a second. With June-ECHO-26012024.mp4 it disappears immediately. I don't know why the browser decides this way, because the skin generates the same HTML code for all of these videos. Perhaps the video format is slightly different, and those where the control bar appears do need some pre-caching.

Thanks for a quick response

I did some experiments after I checked out the video auto start.
With Edge and Firefox the same problem
Chrome updated itself --> same problem

What I saw after going back to the album thumbnails that there was a kind of white line at the bottom of the thumbnails in that row, in other rows not. Other albums, other website does not have this when going back to the thumbnails. These albums where not recently updated.

I converted the videos (mp4 iso v1 and mp4 iso v2, other fps) --> keeps searching the videos, playing normal on my desktop.

Take a look at the page: (Link removed)
At the bottom you see both videos --> with controls. (HTML <video> tag)
And If you click on the text (direct link to the video), the video downloaded and starts with controls. (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)

..may be later more...

Correct

I could find the culprit. It seems the video with no control bar has an unusual video duration: "00:00:21" with no milliseconds. Normally all video durations include the milliseconds too: "00:00:21.0000". I wasn't aware it could be like this. This way the skin thought it was a very short movie (< 2s), and skipped the controls. I've fixed the routine now, so it assumes 0ms if the milliseconds part is missing.

Not until a new version of the skin is released. When you launch jAlbum and select Tiger, it will automatically let you know if there's a new version.

If you'd like to test it right away, here are the files you have to replace in the skin directory's "js" subfolder, attached. (Ctrl-Shift-S from jAlbum)

...unfortunately it doesn't work.

I put the files in the js folder via jAlbum.
Then deleted the album locally and on the server and recreated the album via "Make album" and uploaded it to the server via FileZilla. Also after "Force Remake" no controls.

Are you sure you placed the file in the proper folder? Press Ctrl-Shift-S, then change to js.

No need to remove anything, no Force remake is needed either, just a plain "Make album".

Yes, I'm sure.

I did it again. ..now I got the message that the settings are changed and the complete album should be made. So I made some settings and made the album.
no controls and it seems to be a little mess...not all the albums in the album looks the same.

I put everything back and used a backup of the settings file and made the album again.

...later I will look again...

Laza: So you don't have to keep thrashing around, here's a zipped-up project, containing only two videos. They're both tagged as "do not re-encode," since I grabbed them from the output (don't have access to the originals).

(Demo project removed - issue resolved.)

The first video shows the video controls - the second doesn't. And that's with your new JS files installed, and no caching issues.

(In my skins, both videos behave normally.)

ETA: And yes, the Mp4.Duration numbers are very screwy, even if I let jAlbum reprocess the videos.

I have deleted my comment because it does not contribute to a solution. I replaced the video and now it shows the video with controls after I ran it through a program (Remake) again. Both videos now show the video controls.
Why this happened I don't know and it's strange because both videos are from the same device. ...something didn't go well somewhere.

I'll wait for a possible update.

Sorry, I had the same error in 2 libraries and fixed only one of these. I will update the skin soon with fixed video controls.
