It would be nice that the Mouse "Back Button" works while Editing. It slows me down to move up to the "UP" Icon.

Please explain exactly what behavior you would like to see for the mouse "back" and "forward" buttons. We haven't had this request before, but it sounds interesting to me. Are you referring to leaving editing images in jAlbum's edit mode or to navigate up to the parent folder in jAlbum's Explore view?

I would like to stay in the edit mode and be able to go "Up" to the parent folder. If I am three folders deep, I would like to be able to click three times to bring me back to the beginning.

An interesting idea, but you can already get to the top, or just to the parent folder, with one click. Screenshot.

I've just used the back button for years in my line of work. It still just come natural when I navigate.

To me, "back" and "up a level" aren't really the same thing. I would expect "back" to take me to the previous object within the same folder, not to a parent level.

I also suspect that most users don't have a dedicated "back" button on their mice. I've never had one, in almost 40 years of using a mouse.

I'm a retired electrical engineer. Back Buttons came out about 20 years ago. Of course everywhere I go, people use back buttons. I didn't realize it is uncommon. Maybe it's a Window's Apple thing?

I'll see if I can get my hands on a mouse featuring such buttons for starters :-)

Doesn't the Apple Magic Mouse include that functionality? I believe if you just swipe left or right with one finger, it mimics the effects of a dedicated button.

In the PC world, you have to go out and find such a mouse for yourself. New machines usually don't come with anything fancy. In fact, the last desktop PC I bought came with a simple wired mouse. I keep it in a drawer, just in case (I recall the days when you needed a wired mouse if you brought up the machine in safe mode, because the drivers for a wireless mouse wouldn't get loaded).

It sure does, but the swiping only works with the "magic mouse". The "mighty mouse" has a ball in the center and two side buttons. They together act as a back button and the center ball can be clicked to perform some other action.

Anyway, I have each of these (which I never use), and I could detect these extra key presses, so it's "only" a matter of implementation to support it in jAlbum :-)
