A glitch in Turtle and Tiger (not verified elsewhere):
the compensation value -1/3 is displayed 1/-3. It's good for -2/3.

Please provide us with an image whose metadata includes this value, so we can test it.

Here is an example photo.
I just tested in JAlbum (right clic/Extensions/List of metadata) :
Exposure Bias Value=1/-3 EV

Interesting. This is not skin-specific. See exbias.png - it will display that way in any skin. The Windows properties seem to be OK - see winprops.png.

But I took your image and opened it in EXIF Pilot. I simply re-entered the value: -0.3. And now, it displays correctly. See exbias2.png.

Modified image attached, as well.

I have no idea what would cause this, but there must be something in that field that is upsetting the metadata extractor, which is not a jAlbum creation - it's a third-party app. Perhaps you should file a bug report with them:

Thanks for the analysis.
This problem is present with different Canon bodies that I have used for a long time. The weirdest thing is that the value -2/3 is correct.

This is now in Drew Noakes' hands. Let's see what he comes up with. :)

This is still lurking in jAlbum, but it's now been fixed in metadata-extractor. It's not yet in the full release, but it's been merged into the main branch:

David has packaged the latest version of the metadata extractor, and it will be included in the next jAlbum release. It cures this obscure little bug.

You can try it out at https://jalbum.net/download/metadata-extractor-2.20-main.jar
Place that file inside jAlbum's "lib" folder and remove the existing metadata-extractor.jar file from it.
