Chrome on Android. I just thought it amusing, but some might worry over such a ‘warning’. I’ve made a mental note to add an ignore this to the (eventual) wiki entry.

Mr. iPad has an Android phone? I may need to go lie down for a bit....

Maybe the title of the popup window could reference 'Mobile device' instead of 'Phone'?

What browser? Brave doesn't complain about it (I use it everywhere - desktop, laptop, phone).

See attached screen grab of a locally served webpage, an uploaded page works fine as that is https.

Interesting. In Brave on iOS, I get the reassuring padlock symbol next to the URL. I'll have to think about that one a bit....

I think my Apache server is not properly configured, I tried entering a server name in the config file but it has not made a difference.

I'm afraid you've lost me. The only server involved here is the one embedded with the jAlbum app.

I was trying to see if it was a Mac thing, by comparing it to the OS’ server. Does it work from your Mac?

Perhaps. I strive to make the name "catchy" and "Mobile device" doesn't sound catchy. Would "Add From Mobile" work? I ask as I'm not a native English speaker you know ;-)

Yes, I was just thinking ‘phone’ was too specific. But if you are happy with phone go with that.

If changing there is also the QR code window which mentions phone.

I agree in principle, so what's the most common term would you say? Mobile? Phone or Mobile Phone?

I’d just use mobile. Tablet devices are not phones. In the case of the QR feature I would use both my phone and iPad to check how the site looks on both.

I get the same results whether jAlbum is running on Win11 or macOS - Brave doesn't complain about the protocol.

But would you be taking photos with your iPad, then moving them to jAlbum? That being said, I do know people who take photos with their iPads (especially Minis).

I guess I'd vote for mobile, since it covers the waterfront. But phone would be fine, too - tablet users will quickly understand that it includes them, especially since a lot of tablets do have cell capability, and are used as phones, as well. It's a toss-up.

The term "mobile phone" is almost redundant these days. My sister has a land line, and a wall phone in her kitchen. The grandchildren have no idea what it is, or how one would use it.
