Disappearing file names and empty titles

In the Explore view with the File Name selected, the names disappear when the mouse cursor goes over an image or a folder.
In the Title view, no title is displayed.

Any idea ?

Which "look and feel" are you using? Try one of the other ones - there's probably a color problem.

jAlbum > Preferences > General > Look and feel

I was in jAlbum Dark, tried <system> and One Dark but the pb is the same.

You could try a non-bundled theme. See https://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/Preferences#Look_and_feel
For example https://jalbum.net/forum/servlet/JiveServlet/download/6-56946-346068-21325/X-Code%20Dark.json

You could also try making a duplicate of your chosen theme and edit the colours, see this thread for information.

It is a bit complicated and it isn’t always possible to identify and change specific text elements.

Same problem.

I think I'll try to find an older version of jAlbum with Time Machine

Must be the latter. I'm running jAlbum 30.1 over Java 19 on my ancient Macbook Air, and I'm not seeing any problem. But I'm stuck on macOS Big Sur.

(BTW, guys, OSX disappeared in 2016.)

Yep, just tried with my Creaky Book Pro (2016 and Big Sur) and no problem.

OS names: Old dog and new tricks. They have fudged the naming as Ventura is version number 13, not 7 as would be expected for macOS.

jAlbum ->28 no problem whatever the appearance.
29+ = problem with disappearing file name whatever the view chosen (including X-Code dark)

And btw "Title" is always blank.

Interesting. Please try this special version for Mac, that runs on Java 14 instead of Java 19: https://jalbum.net/download/30.1/MacOSX/jAlbum-java14.dmg

Did you try the Java 14 version of jAlbum that David posted, above? Does that fix the problem?
