This sounds like a permission problem of some sort. Where is the folder FD2ImagesTopLevel? Take a look at the detailed permissions in Windows, and see if there's a clue there. In File Explorer, right-click that folder (or its parent, if that folder doesn't exist yet), choose Properties, then head for the Security tab. Make sure that everyone has full permissions - System, user, etc.

ETA: One more thing to look at - in fact, look here first. Choose Tools, Preferences, Album, and take a look at the entry for Projects directory. Does that location actually exist on your PC?

Another thing to test is to right-click jAlbum and select "Run as Administrator". You should normally not need to do so, but this helps pinpoint the root cause.

As requested, I changed the "Users" security setting for the folder containing the images to "Full control" and I could continue to make a test album.

I was probably creating the images folder as an Admin which had full control.

Thanks

Excellent! :)

There was one Windows update a few years ago that revoked the user permissions on the Pictures folder. Puzzled the daylights out of me for a while. ;)
