David, the error occurred again, and I just quit and restarted JA and compiled the album without any problem. In the meantime I changed the look & feel to:
 
lookAndFeelName=Windows


This makes no difference, the error also occurs with this look & feel.

Until now I can't say what triggers the error.

At least that is logical. Very frustrating this one. I have no clue what's causing it.

Markus, Please try this update (v29.1.3) by doing a core update (Tools->External tools->jAlbum core update). Any change now?

(I've lowered the number of threads reading metadata from 24 to 4, like with jAlbum 28.1)

David, I updated and compiled one of my problematic albums (the 'Scandinavia' album). No errors.

The problem with this error is, it does not occur every time.

I'll let you know when the error occurs again.

Yes, keep that version for some time. This will give an indication. I can imagine some kind of race condition if several threads try to initialize the bridge to native code.

Can you try the new v29.1.6 update? Just do another "core update". It uses the same logic for metadata reading as v28.1 and older versions. I suspect that something in the rewrite of metadata reading has caused this trouble as a side effect.

Thanks. Please do another core update to v29.1.8. It attempts to not have this bug but DO have the increased metadata reading speed we introduced with v29.1. I can't reproduce this problem here so I need tests from those who have encountered this problem.
