Hello

After opening a batch of albums to modify there seems to be two issues, one with the currently open albums watching eye icon and its options not displaying correctly, and the second with all the non open albums watch icons disappearing completely a result.

It seems it may be due to the draggable width limit assigned to the recent projects list itself. ?

Would it be possible to enable the recent projects listing to be dragged further across the screen ?

I have it as wide as it will go.

I attach two images showing the situation, image 1 shows the 'normal' setup, image 2 shows the width issues.

Thanks.

Regards Peter

Really, see attached, almost half of the app's window size.

Puzzling. On my system, I can make the project list almost comically wide. See screenshot of the maximum.

Its not comical, at all. I have just discovered something I never knew.

If you drag the recent projects list width, before you open any albums
at start up, you can indeed drag it a ridiculous width.

However, if you open an album and then drag it, it locks at a specific width...

As per my photos.

Thank you, I guess thats solved.

For me, it makes no difference. I can open, then drag. The limit seems to be the same.

Okeydoke Thank You

I have been living with that issue for a while, for me on my windows system
I can only drag it wider as long as I dont open an album at the beginning.

It is done now and jAlbum remembers the setting so all is fine.

I am sorry, I'm not going mad, really!

For what its worth, I have always been able to reduce the width, but dragging
back and widening would always have the column lock up when it reached its previous maximum width setting...

So I just assumed there was a limit in effect.

I just tried something by dragging the column to be 50% of my screen, hoping something may 'reset'. Did a restart, and opened an album with a longer file name. then dragged the column back, that is fine.

However, when trying to enlarge its width again, the column moves as expected then just sticks and refuses to widen any further. It sticks at the same place it was in the first instance when I decided to ask about it here.

Anyway, all is fine and I have managed to do it, but, theres definitely something weird going on.

It must be a nightmare for you all sometimes, and I do often feel a bit daft, should I or shouldn't I mention some of these things.

Theres an 'X' button at the bottom of the screen on the right, heaven knows what its for. You can turn it off though.

Whatever it is, its 'bar' along the bottom of the window containing my images, is jAlbum 'real estate' and if you click the X it goes away allowing more of the bottom photos to be seen...

Its title (mouse hover over the bar) tells me that 'Drag and Drop' works!

Which is good to know!

Its not a problem, just odd !!

The x space is for showing keywords, as you have selected in your explore view mode. You must not have any keywords to show.

Thankyou Rob,

Okeydoke, I'm shocking with keywords so I shall just keep turning it off. No worries.

I do use drag and drop sometimes and it does indeed work really well.

jAlbum is brilliant I always think, every single time I use it.

Hello Rob

Now, this prompts me to ask...

Is there a way to turn off this keyword feature, just really to avoid
turning it off manually, as I dont use keywords and it would be nice to just switch it off.

Its a bit like having to straighten a picture in the hall every time I walk
in the front door. So why not just sort it out.

I have looked at the help files, search etc, but haven't found it. If it's switch offable then that would be great, if not, no worries

Ah, yes, if it's trying to show Keywords, that limits the width of the project list on the left. Choose anything else - jAlbum will remember what you've chosen, and you won't have to keep turning it off. See screenshot.

The search function often returns too many results, try the glossary instead. that gives jAlbum>Explore>Thumbnail views>Keyword As Jeff has shown changing the Thumbnail view is all you need.

Bingo !!

Thank You Jeff, well, would you believe it !!

Thats brilliant, two issues sorted out in one go.

I chose something else in those options, keywords bar is gone and now the recent projects list behaves just as I hoped. It can be resized at any time.

Thank You so much for this

Kudos to RobM for spotting the "X," which proved to be the key (pun intended) to the mystery. :)
