Custom missing from New Page menu

Hi
I'm a first time Story skin user, although I have been using jAlbum itself for a long time.
I've read this blog post: https://jalbum.net/blog/entry/tell-your-story which describes the features of the Story skin.
I'm having problems adding text to the front page. The blog post describes selecting "New Page" then "Custom.htt" and then using the "Title" and "Comment" fields.
However - "Custom.htt" is not appearing in the "New Page" menu for me. I've looked through all the settings to see if this is disabled or if there is another way of doing this. I found the "Custom Conent" in the "Hero" setting - but this is for adding content above the "Hero" section. I've tried all the other page types, thinking it may have been renamed, but all seem to create new pages rather than add content to the front page.
Why is the "Custom.htt" missing for me and how do I add text to the front page.
Thanks

The skin has changed since the blog post was written (blog posts aren't updated).
Try Story > Design > Footer > Custom Content
ETA: The other option is to right-click and choose New page > Empty page, and place your content there. Try it both ways - the content of each will appear in a different place. The "empty page" material appears up with the other stuff, while the "footer" material appears at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for the speedy reply Jeff.
Unfortunately, neither of these options seems to work.
I'm trying to create some text under the hero section - just the same as the sample page where it says "A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS". See here: http://laza.jalbum.net/Story%20skin%20introduction/
Story > Design > Footer > Custom Content is adding text into the footer of the page, which is not what I'm looking for.
I had tried all the pages in the add page menu - including the "Empty Page". After your suggestion, I have tried this again. But this and all the other options create new pages. They aren't creating the equivalent of the "A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS" text in the sample.
I get that the blog post is out of date because the plugin has moved on. But the whole point of this skin seems to be creating a story with text in addition to the pictures.
How do you create the equivalent of "A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS" from the sample?
Thanks

"How do you create the equivalent of "A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS" from the sample?"
As to your comment above, I've often wondered if there was a way to download the JALBUM sample sites so that we could see how they were built and implemented? So often, there are really nice examples of what one can do with a particular skin and if we had the settings, source photos, pages, etc, it would be a great way to see how they are implemented.
Maybe this ability is already there and I just don't know about it but if not, it might be a nice add-on feature supplied with the sample site.

First step, right-click, New page > Empty page. Enter your text as shown in emptypage.png.
Now go to the Explore view, and plant that page where you want it to appear, relative to the thumbnails. See explore.png.
Finally (and this is the default, but....), make sure it's set to embed the pages, rather than just provide links to them. See layout.png.

And the result, from a quick test. See result.png.
Of course, you'll need to do some styling of the page contents - there's very little about it that's automatic. Rather than trying to fight with the skin's own CSS, I would just add my own CSS classes, then style them under Story > Advanced > Custom code > CSS.
A quick fiddle: see empty2.png, customcss.png, and result2.png.

Jeff
Thank you.
It was your third image, layout.png, which fixed this for me.
I don't believe I changed this setting from when I installed the plugin this morning, but "Show pages in the story" was set to "None". So none of the pages were embedded in the story.
After setting it to "Embed all images" as you suggested worked, I've now set this to "Embed user pages only" which works better for my site.
Looking at the settings now, I don't know how I didn't see it. But there are a lot of settings, and the blog post was describing the old way of doing it. So I missed it.
Thank you for persevering and fixing this so quickly for me.

I had to do some hunting around and experimenting. Laza doesn't organize his skin settings the way I do, so there's always a fair bit of digging involved.
Settings that get changed from their defaults are caused by App Trolls™.

You can look for a lifeboat file and if there is on download it and start with that. For example http://laza.jalbum.net/Story%20skin%20introduction/lifeboat.zip
Unzip the contents and move/copy them to a folder, named say, Story, to 'My Projects' directory. Now you just need to add the images from the sample site (copyright permitting) or your own, named as per the sample album. You can get the image names by looking at the url copied from right clicking on an image, e.g. laza.jalbum.net/Story%20skin%20introduction/thumbs/

Double click the jalbum-settings.jap file to open the project.

If you wonder how the quote is formatted add this custom CSS code to the Settings / Story / Advanced / Custom code / CSS box:
@media screen and (min-width: 30rem) and (min-height: 30rem)
.page-wrap blockquote {
font-size: 1.5em;
}
.page-wrap blockquote {
text-align: center;
font-size: 1.375em;
text-transform: uppercase;
letter-spacing: 0.1em;
}
I had to remove this formatting as others were using Blockquote for different purposes.

Thanks Rob,
Let me give that a try.
When adding images what you need to do depends on how the project was structured, Story demo used ‘link to images’, you can check that by opening the project and looking at the (broken) thumbnails.

Thank you Jeff! I was at the same place as malcyl. Your notes gave just enough to get started.
