The comments aren't stored by the skin. They're stored by jAlbum. So if you load the project, then change to another skin, the comments are still there.

Yes, the "comments" are still in index.html, but Saturn doesn't see them. They don't show up as a comment or a title in Saturn Settings/Slides. I'm sure I'm missing something.
I'm afraid I'm not following you. jAlbum never extracts the comments from the existing output album. It uses the comments that are stored with the project.
Open the original Matrix project. Have jAlbum show you the comments - see screenshot. Now switch to Saturn. The comments are still there. Now just tell Saturn where to use the comments on the Thumbnails and Slides tabs.
