Neptune Info Page Adding Image(s)
Posted: 4 May 22, 22:57

I was trying to add an extra image to the test area of the Info Page. I put the image in the res folder. That is where any Design image is stored. But my image would get erased when I did a Make album.

My temporary solution was to make the album THEN add this Info Page image to the res folder and THEN upload. Messy.

I had an album of photos from my granddaughter's recent prom, but wanted to insert a single prom photo for the 1960's and felt the Info Page the perfect area.

So what obvious and simple thing did I overlook this time ;-)

(BTW, incredible skin)

One of those things that's utterly non-obvious, but wonderfully useful. In the Explore view, add a new folder, and name it res. You'll notice that it's automatically grayed out - jAlbum knows that a folder with this name is "special." Open it, and add your extra info page image. When you make the album, the contents of that folder will be copied, along with the skin's own res stuff, into the output directory. So, in your page coding, you can refer to it exactly the same way, as res/myprom.jpg.

You are obviously a man of great wisdom, keen perception, and impeccable taste.

That works perfectly. If I might suggest adding this info to your already very helpful Manual?

If only because I'll probably forget the res folder again in two months. Thanks

The Neptune manual is for Neptune. I don't want to wade into talking about stuff that's part of the jAlbum core.

And it's not useful only for the info page. I routinely stash things like subdirectory-specific favicons there. A user could even plant Javascript files there, then call them from material added to the HTML via the Code tab.
