Safari not showing all images - reload required to complete the scroll

Having a problem when using Safari to show images in the initial scroll of all images in the album. When scrolling to the end of the list many images go dark and do not seem to load - a forced reload by the Safari browser helps in some cases.

This is not a problem with Firefox.

Here is the link to the album: https://www.pmfly.com/polo/seneca/2021-05-22-23/index.html

Unfortunately, I don't have any safari here but I will check this later. If you see any error on the developer console (Cmd-Shift-I ?), that'd help.

No problem with that album in Safari here - all images load just fine.

The only error in the console is a 404 on res/normalize.css.map.

I have noticed Safari can sometimes not load pages correctly, usually it looks like a mangled CSS issue. Clearing the cache fixes those issues, so it might be worth a shot in this case.

I found a normalize.css.map file an added it to the res directory and no difference - still confusion in the presentation of the images. FYI - there was no 404 error, naturally, since I added it.

What works the best is to go all the way to the bottom of the image presentation (so that you are seeing the last image) and then do a Safari reload. Then as you slide back up all the images are there.

I have tried clearing the cache in Safari but that did not help on my computer.

A thorough cache-clearing might cure this problem. Apple hides it:

Or, install CCleaner and run it. The free version is all you need.

ETA: You posted while I was digging....

TKS - Jeff, I cleared the cache as describe. ( & Not with CCleaner) Problem still exists.

CCleaner would just do the same thing, but automatically.

What version of Safari? I'm testing with 14.1.

ETA: Another thought - this might be a "poor connection" problem. What happens if you scroll down until you start seeing missing images, then just wait?

map files are only needed for debugging SCSS files. These files map the lines of the compressed CSS files to the uncompressed SCSS files.

Correct

I've checked on Safari 13, and no problems here. The CSS.MAP error only happens if you bring up the developer console. It's not a real error.

I don't know... I have an iMac and a MacBookPro - both have the same Safari display problem. I use both computers to create projects with jAlbum.

I called a friend and she uses Safari and it works perfectly.

Best solution for me - don't use Safari, it will just make me crazy - all the others work and why would I want to make myself crazy.

One more idea: don't you use some kind of security software or browser extension that might block Javascript on web pages?
