"Atom" and the Zoom-in/out Function

Hi all,

I am using the latest jAlbum Pro together with Atom.

To check any changes done to photos in post the zoom function (Ctrl + Plus/Minus) would come handy - but does not work.

Any idea what prevents it from functioning?

It's because using the browser zoom function triggers a signal that the window has been resized. So, the skin tries to make the image fit within the window. This is a common problem with responsive pages.

The skin also assumes that it will never be forced to produce a vertical scrollbar, so it disables it. So even if you finally succeed in zooming in, you can't scroll to see the rest of the image.

I'll rethink my approach to this. Some things that are good for testing aren't good for actually using the album.

It's all coming back to me now. There's a good reason why most responsive image scripts can't handle zooming in a desktop browser. There are simply too many competing goals involved - you can't maintain responsiveness while also accommodating zooming.

It's a different story on a phone, however: pinch-zooming behaves normally in that environment.

So, unless I experience some sort of miraculous epiphany, this behavior won't be changing.

There is a Windows "accessibility" utility that might help, but I'm not sure how reliable the rendering is. While viewing a page (or anything else on the PC, for that matter), hold down the "windows" key (between CTRL and ALT on most keyboards) and hit the "plus" key. You can pan around just by moving the mouse to the edges of the display - don't try to click and drag. The degree of magnification is controlled by holding down "windows" and hitting "plus" or "minus." To get out of that mode, hold down "windows" and hit ESC.

Looks fairly crude to my eyes, however.
