Have had problems uploading a lot recently. What does this message mean?
Is this skin conditioned or is it due to the update from Jalbum 22?

Greetings Klaus

This has nothing to do with the skin, the upload is managed by jAlbum regardless of the skin. This message says your server stopped responding longer than 300 seconds. You can try selecting the other FTP client during the upload - perhaps that behaves better with your server.

How do you mean with another FTP client?

Click the little triangle on Upload, and select "Upload / Manage". There you'll see a box to select FTP client. If yo are using FTP choose the other FTP client (not sFTP).

JAlbum continues to crash.
Only now no more error messages appear.

The remoteFS exception is not a crash, it signals that the remote server has closed the connection.

If jAlbum crashes I can move the thread to bug reports.

I don't understand that since the updates when updating the galleries, such a problem occurs?
But this only happens when I make major changes in the galleries (skin).
I am currently helping myself by completely deleting the picture folder on the server and uploading everything again.
But is that time-consuming and only an emergency solution?

It seems to be a problem with the skin in conjunction with jAlbum?

I keep looking for the source of the error.

No, the skin has nothing to do with the upload process. Naturally, when you regenerate an album, and many files need to be uploaded the chance of going something wrong is higher.

Instead of removing everything from the server you might get better by removing only one file - manifest.jmf - so jAlbum will update the database on the server the next time you try to upload.

Thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately, the tip doesn't work either. jAlbum simply closes during the upload.

sFTP can be used only on servers which support that - you might want to ask your hosting provider. For example jalbum.net allows only sFTP.

My provider also allows sFTP. With FileZilla I only go to the server via SFTP. Provider hosteurope

Hi, Please write me at david@jalbum.net and provide me with your credentials for accessing your server. I'll then test from here using jAlbum and compare with FileZilla.
