I made 96 copies of that large panoramic image you passed me and made an album using FancyBox and smooth scaling (the most memory consuming scaling). It required under 4GB using 4 threads. No out of memory condition.
I don't understand what is goiing on here:
I installed version 20.0.6 again and now I get the same head error.
If I look at this album at my server I see:
<meta name='generator' content='jAlbum 20.0.4 with FancyBox version 1.5.9, created: 2020-04-22'>
so this heap error ws absent in the past.

I did use 8 threads, but tried now also 4 treads with the same result.

Attached is my project file. Please return the project file you used and your jalbum.ini file.
And I hope you did your test under Windows 10.

Edit:

I did the same test as you did with jAlbum 20.1, with about 100 panorama pictures in the root folder: No problems.

Next I copied the folder with the subfolder from my original Algarve album to the root of the test album and removed all images except the panorama picture: Crash after a make.

Next I removed all .jalbum folders from the subfolders: No crash after a make!

Next I removed all .jalbum folders in my Algarve album in the folders giving problems. Next it was also possible to generate my Algarve album without problems!

You do understand, don't you, that by doing that you've deleted all your entered comments, all folder description text, all object-ordering information, all record of when images were added to the project, and all image editing (cropping, etc.). Those .jalbum folders are there for a reason.

Of course I know that and it took me a long time to enter comments again etc.
But this was the only way to solve this problem!

I assume this is because you have a "res" folder inside the "Bloemen" sub folder. jAlbum ignores sub folders that contain a "res" folder.
I am glad you solved this problem in a better way in version 20.1, I see that a res folder in a subfolder does no longer hides the folder in the output album!

What, no backups? Some quick recovery of comments.properties and albumfiles.txt would have been much easier.

But this was the only way to solve this problem!

No, the way to solve the problem would have been to delete only the .info file(s) for the problem image(s), and only after examining one of them to discover what was causing the error. Now, you'll never know.
