I did the Tools > Core Update from 19.3 and got to 19.3.5. I went back and tried another Tools > Core Update and remained at 19.3.5. Apparently, if you want to get to 19.3.6 you will need to go to a 'full' download at https://jalbum.net/en/software/download and not a simple Tools 'update.'

Yes, when the latest "official" release is, in fact, the newest thing available, there's no need to do a "core update." Just install the official release, and move on.

Yes I had the same experience.

This is apparently a bug in the jAlbum organization: they should remove all core updates with a new release.

See core update in menu>tools

jAlbum core update
Only use this if told to do so, such as to install critical core updates or service updates, or if you want to help debug new features before they are formally released as they can result in unforeseen buggy behaviour. It Downloads and installs the most recent (unofficial) update to jAlbum's core code (album-cor.jar).

Clearly a major lapse. jAlbum should convene an interdepartmental task force, with representatives of each of the jAlbum corporate units, to review and revise, as necessary, the relevant procedures manuals. Its primary mission should be to determine whether responsibility for this function should remain with the Development Division, or whether it should be reassigned to the Deployment Division, or perhaps to the Tools Division.

Of course, Human Resources will also need to be consulted, as any change will necessarily entail revision of the Position Descriptions of employees in each of the affected divisions.

Each division shall provide nominations for task force membership by the close of business (Central European Time) on 20-Mar-2020. The task force, its official name to be determined at its first convocation, will be expected to deliver weekly progress reports; a draft proposal should be ready for review by all parties within six months.

The core update issue now fixed. jAlbum's organization will now move on to other tasks :-)

No fair! I've already reserved workspace for the task force, and put in an order for extra coffee and doughnuts.

I trust you'll be updating the org charts, as well.
