Unable to select submenus with ipad/iphone

As subject says. It works on a pc but not on a ipad/iphone.
I can manouvre my way through the menu but i’m unable to select anything except the top level (for example ”vi själva” in the attached pic) - but even that i have to double tap to work.
If i select ”John”, for an example, the menu only collapse again.
Browsing through thumbs works as expected.

Tried with both safari and chrome with the same result.

The reason that i didn’t present a link is because it’s a private site with password protection.
But heres a link to lazas tiger skin which behaves at the same way. If i try to click on ”test” in his menu Nature/Flora/test, the menu only collapses.

Works OK on an Android phone. I'll have to leave it to someone else to test an iOS device, since I don't have one.

(ETA: Navigation on an Android phone is quite balky. The nav targets, like the back/up arrow, seem to be too small. I have to pinch-zoom a bit to make them large enough to hit.)

Not very nice, but if you touch and hold on the ‘Test’ menu item and then select ‘Open in new tab’ it works. Strangely selecting open doesn’t work.

I noticed that too. But i isn’t a smooth way to handle it if you want to browse through the folders.
This was not an issue before some update ago.

I must admit I can't reproduce this problem on an iPad 4 (iOS11?).

When you tested it did you have a third level (or more) in the menu? Otherwise it works as expected.
For example the ”test” folder (mentioned earlier) you had under Nature/Flora/ before you deleted it.
Just to make sure that you tried under the ”right” conditions.

Ah, so it's only the 3rd level and deeper. I can test it tomorrow. Perhaps the underlying zurb framework has changed, as I don't remember any changes in this part.

Correct. But the 2nd level doesn’t work either if you got a subfolder in it.

I tested iOS 10 (iPhone 5 SE) and 11 (iPad gen 4), but could not reproduce this error. Unfortunately I cannot upgrade neither of my devices, because Apple has locked the version on them. :( I can't understand why this error happens only from level 3, because the HTML structure is the same on all levels. Perhaps some kind of "protection" against deeply nested elements? But what could be the risk?

I guess it's related to how iPad's identify their user interface. Probably with iOS12 they've removed the possibility to detect if the device is "touch" or "mouse" driven. They do this to deter webpages from providing different content for touch devices. In rare cases it's important to know. In this case the menu is using the mouseover event to open the submenu on desktops and single tap on touch devices. However, if no way of knowing which event to expect, it falls back to the emulated mouseover events: that is the menu will try to open the submenu instead of following the link. Unfortunately this is not my code, but part of the underlying Zurb foundation library.

I have updated Zurb. Can you please check if the problem still persists?
