P.S.2 If you change interface language, the date and time language changes (and probably other things). Not cool because if you want to share info on the forum using the English version of the interface is the best AFAIK. And you have to use this preference if you have sites in different languages. Imagine doing a multiple language version (French, English, Japanese…) of your site?
What I have done is to press SHIFT + CMD/CNTRL + P to open the program directory and then navigate to the ‘texts’ directory. I then open the English and another language file in a text editor. Then I can search for the English text used in the application and then copy the text to the left of the ‘=‘. Switch to the other language and search for the copied text, the translation is then on the right of the ‘=‘.
Easier than changing language, though still a bit messy.

Thank you but too complicated for me.
PS I don't know how to quote.

A perfect illustration of why I don't use the texts files in my skins. It's incredibly clumsy. The translations are spotty - there's no staff of translators standing by to tackle them, so whether your language is available is purely hit-or-miss. And modifying them sends the user into a text editor, searching for fields with puzzling names. It's like a treasure hunt, one that involves a lot of guessing.
I stick to a simpler approach. The UI is in English, period. If the user can't deal with that, he can always turn Google translate loose on the user's manual pages. But the text of every label and tooltip in the finished album can be modified very simply. Want to produce the album in another language? Copy the project, change the text entries in the skin's settings, and make the album. An example:

We need to encourage David and Laza to talk each other.
The problem is the "Theme image" and the "Hero" covers two different things. I stumbled upon this when I made a separate control panel for the Hero. I can't call it "Theme image". The theme image can be the background image of the hero area. Or not. A hero can have no background at all, or have a gradient or a pattern only as background. It's not fortunate to make controls like: "Move the search box into the theme image", or "Theme image background" = "Flat color".
I thought if "Hero" is how they call this in WordPress, it could be good enough in jAlbum.

I call it the “Title bar,” and the image that appears there, if there is one, is the “Theme image.”

Yes, perhaps "title bar" is better. (Although it's not just a bar, a hero can be full-screen.)

WordPress should not be regarded as an example of naming things.
Presumably there is a reason for existence of the "thing" that you are calling "hero", but as far as I can see, there is nothing "heroic" about it. Surely there is a better word to describe its function?

How about "Title area" or "Title zone"?
For translation purposes, "zone" might be a better choice, as many European languages translate it as "zone" or "zona".

How about... "Title zone"?
To anyone from the U.S. (of a certain age), that triggers this:

It sounds like a place in which nothing is as it seems to be.

I’m ashamed,
I just saw for the first time that the last element in the preference pane is an explanation of what is a Hero. Maybe putting it completely at the bottom, separating it from the last check box (full screen button) will make it more visible.
A lot of Tiger preferences have been modified when, I think, I changed the language in Album preferences. I also had a white star for the « new images » and it turned back to red.
