Yes, I can confirm that inc-files are again processed as in the last released version, as you can see here.
Thanks!

Great. Happy you spotted this.

In the jAlbum Beta update tool, which is currently still not working, I check the beta core update file's modified date with
HttpURLConnection httpCon = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
if(httpCon.getLastModified() >  existingFile.lastModified()) …

This used to work but now the last modified date is reported as 0, is this a website or Java11 related issue? Without the date the tool would report an update was available, even if it is the same as the installed core file.

I tested the following in jAlbum's system console. This works
url = new URL("http://jalbum.net/download/beta/jalbum-core.jar");
HttpURLConnection httpCon = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
new Date(httpCon.getLastModified())
Prints Wed Nov 21 14:30:25 CET 2018.

I started making a new album of albums with jAlbum 17.1b5

Via drag and drop I entered the web locations in the Explorer and next I open the Edit menu of a web location and clicked the update button to get a thumb image for the site. But that does not work for this version, I get a handshake_failure message, see attached screenshot an this test album.

Is this a bug in version 17.1b5 or do I something wrongly?

And adding a weblocation via New page / Web location is not possible, the OK button stays gray.

The OK button isn't available until there's a URL and an image.

Yes, I tried that and it worked, so I downloaded 16.2 and 17 and ran the update tool and it worked on both; yet the last two core updates failed with the tool when trying to update from b4 and b5.

It could have been gremlins or me (not sure how though as running the tool is simple), I'll just have to try the tool again on the next core update - if there is one. If anyone else has run the tool and not had problems then it must be me.

Oops, of course; it is because I downloaded 17 not the 17 beta dmg file - all because of having problems updating the core before. Having a bad day at the office!

In the new version is less room in combo boxes as in the last released version, see attached screenshots.
I am sure that in screenshot ComboBoxProblem2.PNG in the released version is displayed 'px' instead of '...'.

Edit
See the corresponding screenshots in V17

I have another problem with version 17.1b5 on my Windows 10 system.

I started a new project of an album with 4 sub-folders and no images in the parent folder.

After a make I see immediately Done and no images are made in the output directorey.

The attached screen shot show the final status and the contents of the output directory.

I used the FancyBox skin and the Miunimal skin, both with the same result.

Next I selected Logging level All, the console outut is attached. the last statement is:

FINEST: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: SlideModel

Edit:

Sorry, my fault: "processing subdirectories was off.

To make jAlbum really user-friendly, it should give a warning if check-mark 'Process subdirectories' is cleared while there are non-excluded subdirectories!

Or even better: remove check-mark 'Process subdirectories'; if the user does not want to process subdirectories he can always exclude all subdirectories to get the same effect.
In that case it is ofcourse required to solve the Multiple include bug which is also not solved in this version!

These are advanced settings for a purpose. Don't go there unless you wish to have this detailed control. We should perhaps add a "reset to defaults" setting that can help sorting out these kinds of issues quickly.

With regards to the include/exclude bug. I believe you, but please don't keep iterating it unless you've figured out how to reproduce it on another computer. We've tried to reproduce it several times but fail to do so.

Maybe some sort of program-level hints.jap?

In some of my skins I go after some settings that, if chosen badly, are guaranteed to produce bad results, but you can't account for every odd decision a user makes.
