Hi everybody!

I am trying to make a gallery with bananalbum.
Photos in the upright, portrait format are streched so the have the same format as photos in landscape format.
They are looking really awful.

With which option can I cancel that they are streched and are displayed with the right proportions?

Asking,
Peter

We will need a link to the album to comment further.
Which version of Banana are you using?

We really will need to see the album. There are no options in jAlbum or in BananAlbum that would produce distorted thumbnails. I just tried a little test album (I hadn't tried BananAlbum) with images with a mix of aspect ratios, and they all display properly.

here is a screenshot.
the photo is taken in upright, portrait format

here it is strangely lengthened to the width and broadness of a photo in landscape format.

strange, in previous versions of bananalbum I never had this problem

A screenshot unfortunately provides no further information.
Make sure you have the following in Settings/Advanced:
Process subdirectories checked
Process only updated subdirectories unchecked
Include subdirectories in index pages checked
Exclude new images by default unchecked.

Then make the album again, just click ‘Make’, do not select make changes.
Check the images again.

It's like sending a photo of your car to your auto mechanic, and asking him why the car won't start.

One thing I have discovered about BananAlbum, however, is that it doesn't tolerate any use of fixed-shape filters, either for thumbnails or slide images. So, make sure that under Settings > Advanced > User Variables, there is nothing there.
