Upload to Localhost (WAMP)
Posted: 28 Jul 16, 16:43

I have used jAlbum to create a photographic album on my website but have forgotten how to update it!

I have updated the Album and need to upload it to my web site. Before I do this I like to check everything on my local system using 'Localhost' but I cannot remember how to upload to localhost. Just loading the preview to the wamp/www location does not create an index file. If I try to use the 'Upload' facility I get a password fail when I enter http://localhost as the server. (Java fail message)

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I need simple instructions as I am new to WAMP and jAlbum. Just want to upload to my localhost.

Thanks for any help.

Open the output directory - Tools, Open directories, Output directory - and copy everything you see there to the correct location on localhost.

Remember, the "upload" routine doesn't create or alter the files - it's just a file copier.

Thank you jGromit - I was not convinced of this but have checked it out and it is correct.

The reason for checking on localhost is, as you say, to ensure that everything works exactly as required BEFORE publishing it to a web site.
