Minimal Skin displays unwanted titles as captions in slide view

Hi there! I'm new to jAlbum, and I've been trying out the Minimal Skin, and I like it.
But it has a problem with slide view captions I can't seem to fix.
Thumbnail view works as expected. Thumbnails with a title display text under the thumbnail, and files without a title display nothing.
But in slide view ALL slides display caption text. Files with a title display the title, and files without a title display the filename (which I don't want).
I checked the skin settings and made sure the Thumbnail labels "Used" column was just to "Title" and nothing else. But this did not address the issue.
I also used the "List Metadata" extension and confirmed that files with a title do have an "xmp.cd:title[1]=" tag while files with no title do not have an "xmp.cd:title=" tag set. So it appears the metadata is correct.
I tried some other skins, such as the Plain skin, and they do work as expected. The slide view only shows captions for slides with a title. So this seems to just be an issue with the Minimal skin.
Is this something that can be fixed?

The problem is that the fields for letting you choose the thumbnail caption apply only to the thumbnails. The checkboxes above that, to the right, show that for the slides, the only choices include Image title/name - in other words, it will display the title if there is one, and the base file name if there is no title. So, not a bug, just not working the way you would like.
That said, Minimal was never intended for making albums. It's more of a "development mule," a framework to use as a starting point to creating your own skin, or for learning how to modify a skin. You could edit the template files in Minimal to get the desired result. These days, of course, relatively simple web pages like those produced by Minimal fall far short of what site visitors expect, so that original intent is somewhat moot.
If you want a simple, unadorned album, stick to Plain or my Atom skin.

Thanks for the fast (and clear) response Jeff.
Makes sense. I think I'll use the Plain skin which seems like it does pretty much just what I want.
Side note: I'm so impressed with jAlbum! Ever since Apple closed down iWeb I've been trying to find something that would let me properly share albums with captions. For years I've tried every possible photo sharing site and found them to be too inflexible or too expensive (or both). Honestly, those sites don't really target a person like me that wants to share captioned family albums via web links. Instead they target photo streamers, bloggers, photo enthusiasts, professional photographers, logged in travel groups, etc.
I just recently realized there were site generators (duh!) and that led me to jAlbum which does everything I could have hoped for. I'm impressed with the features, the performance, and the quality.
And now I'm also impressed with the support and the community!

Glad that you're having a good initial experience with jAlbum!
At this point, you've probably only scratched the surface - this app will do a lot of things. Don't be shy about popping into the forum to ask about things, like, "Is there a way to do X?" There's usually someone around who will know the answer off the top of his head. Better to take 60 seconds of our time than spend two hours beating your head against the desktop.
(I'll move this thread to the Other jAlbum Skins forum section, since it's a skin-specific thing.)
