This subject has gotten hopelessly tangled in a separate, but related discussion, so I thought I'd break it out into a new, "clean" thread. User
allenhuffman will want to chime in on this - he's got a lot of pano images, whereas I have only a handful of examples, acquired elsewhere. in short, it's not really my "thing," so forgive me if I'm misunderstanding some aspect of it.
Here's the demo album:
(demo album removed)
It's using the same equirectangular image, but each with a different field of view (FOV). I thought that a lower FOV would be more "zoomed in," with larger values zooming out. What I'm seeing is the opposite - FOV 20 is more zoomed out than FOV 70. FOV 20 is providing a wider field of view than FOV 70.
And then, at FOV 180, the image inverts. At FOV 270, it's still inverted, and also zoomed
out more. So, the zooming seems to be behaving in the opposite way than what it does at values less than 180.
I'm mystified, to say the least.
