Newimages.htt

I've managed to get the new images page working OK in a small test album but on trying to roll it out to my live site I've hit a problem. When you click on one of the retrieved thumbnails more often than not you get the wrong image or the system just ignores you.
My settings for newimages.htt are 365 days, whole album, added to album, date, reverse order unchecked (which seems oddly to be the way to get latest first). I have pages set to be listed at the top and bottom of the screen only.
I've tried varying these settings and deleting newimages.htt and starting again but nothing seems to work. I've tried searching the forum as well.
My live site is at https://robertcunnew.uk - my test site at https://robertcunnew.uk/Test2/
Can anyone help?

Not sure why it's failing, but the browser console coughs up an error message, attached.
ETA: But as a first step, update Tiger. The current version is 8.3.1.

Thanks, that's interesting. I should point out that, to be safe, I've only updated my live site for the top level and the Digital folder since making the change. I might have thought that this was causing the problem, but my site is a single album and on viewing the local version of the site (F12 in jAlbum), whether using an external browser or the jAlbum browser, I get the same problem.

That's manifestly unsafe. With a JSON-driven skin like this one, you should never try to update only part of the project. Process all subdirectories, and let the jAlbum uploader do its job. Having mixed old and new content on your site risks producing all sorts of problems.

Point taken. I've just updated the whole site.
The problem remains, unfortunately.

I've added a few files with tildes to my test album and have managed to recreate the problem there. So you might have hit on the solution. I will try removing them from my live site.

I've now updated my whole site to remove (most) tildes. It now works OK! So thanks very much for that.
Incidentally, the tildes weren't just decorative. It's one of the few characters you can use instead of a space in Windows which will file after a full stop. I use it for details of my main images. So instead of:
Title of whole work detail 1.jpg
Title of whole work detail 2.jpg
Title of whole work.jpg
you get:
Title of whole work.jpg
Title of whole work~detail 1.jpg
Title of whole work~detail 2.jpg
Of course you can use the title field in jAlbum but it's easier if you can use filenames.
My solution is to remove the detail images altogether, it was on my to-do list anyway now I've got the zoom facility working OK.

JavaScript code can fail when certain illegal characters are used, trying to deal with all of them is not easy. Always pay attention to those warning triangles on thumbnails in jAlbum’s explore view, Always pay attention to those warning triangles on thumbnails in JAlbum’s Explore view; they’re there for a reason
Anyway glad it did fix the problem.
