This isn't really a bug, but something I find very annoying. Feel free to move this post to another forum section.

In the Multi-maker, you can select "Recent Projects." In this case, the displayed projects do not seem to take into account the "recent" criterion, and the list has nothing to do with the list of recent projects in the main window, see attached screenshot.

In my example, the projects at the top of the list haven't been opened for several months. The 3 most recent projects are displayed in 16th, 15th and 14th position, which forces you to scroll through the list when you want to build/upload them with the Multi-maker.

For your information, I want to clarify that for me, "Recent Project" means "a recently opened project," not a recently built project or anything like that.

Is there any way to fix this soon?

True, but IMHO this not how it should work.

If for example, I want to enrich an album built and published 3 years ago (it occurs time to time ), I will first open the project in the main window and do what I have to do. Then, I open the Multi-maker window to build and publish this project, so I expect to see it in the top of the list (after all, no other project can be more recent than this one). But, even if I sort projects by last made or last published, my project will be far in the end of the list and I have to search carefully for it.

This is not the behavior I expect.

The other option, if you're dealing with just one old project to which you've just made some changes, is to skip the multi-maker entirely, and just use Album > Make and upload in background (CTRL-SHIFT-M), which accomplishes the same thing.

Something that might help make it easier is to use the multi maker menu File>Open project list file You can then limit the projects shown to just a particular set, and either load sets as required or revert to the projects under the location dropdown list.

Example of the text file:

/Users/robert/My Albums/Samples/Welcome to jAlbum/jalbum-settings.jap
/Users/robert/My Albums/Samples/Sample Project/jalbum-settings.jap
/Users/robert/My Albums/Samples/Sample Portfolio/jalbum-settings.jap

I have several such project sets stored under the config directory, in a folder named 'Recent project sets'. To make it even easier don't forget you can use 'Select as you type' to go to a specific project, just select any project first or you'll be selecting from the locations list.

No, the file open dialog should open at the location where the user have opened the last time (and should use indeed the home directory as the default for the first time). And all dialogs in jAlbum should have a separate last used path.

Try updating to v39.4.4 via a core update (Tools->External tools->jAlbum core update")

Fixes:

• File chooser now starts in user home directory and then remembers the last used location
• The project list is now ordered by use and not by reverse use, so now it should match the ordering found in the main window.

I've switched the default to "My Albums" now and made the MultiMaker remember window size and position.

As for remembering the location: I can probably address that too, but do you know that if you click and drag the location selector, then you can select the location in one single mouse gesture as opposed to clicking once to reveal the options, then click the desired location.

I also noticed that the last item in the combo box is ... I naively thought it indicated that the list was partially displayed and would expand when clicked. But after trying it, I realized it allows you to import lists of projects, great. I think IMHO that it would be good to show this clearly by renaming the item Import... for example.

Yes, I'm very familiar with the project groups I already use. And I think it's great to find these project groups in the Multi-maker locations list
