Neptune - External Link

I am trying to create a folder which links to a YouTube playlist. Is this possible? I have created a folder called YouTube links and have dragged the shareable YouTube playlist link to this folder. If I am doing this correctly then there appears to be a couple of issues. The link only opens the first video within the playlist. There is a "More Videos" button but that leads to all the videos on my YouTube channel not just the ones on the playlist. Also the videos don't open in a new Tab like the Neptune options indicate. See my options attached. I can't seem to use my browser back arrow to get back to my album. While clicking outside the video will take me back to the album it is not obvious to the user. Perhaps some of these are YouTube issues not Neptune issues?? Here is a link to my album.

Am I doing this correctly and if so, are there any solutions to my issues?

Thanks

I know exactly why this is happening. It's a situation I hadn't quite anticipated.

But let me make sure I understand what you're after. When the visitor clicks on that YouTube Video Link thumbnail, you want him to be taken to the YouTube playlist, outside of the lightbox, just like any other web location, right? And you want that to be in a new browser tab, so when he's done looking around at your videos, he can close that tab, and be back in your album, where he started, right?

If that's all correct, it's a one-minute code fiddle.

ETA: Quickly cobbled together, using some utterly inappropriate photos to create a couple of regular folders:

(demo album removed - served its purpose)

Hi Jeff,

As usual, you interpreted my issue correctly and provided the result I was looking for. When I looked at your User manual I saw the options below so assumed the playlist would open in a new browser tab -

  • Solo web location folders: If this option is selected, and the skin encounters a folder that has only a single web location in it, and nothing else, it produces the usual folder thumbnail. But the folder thumbnail, if clicked, doesn't open the folder - instead, it goes directly to the target of the web location.
  • Open web locations in new tab: If selected, web locations will open in a new browser tab, rather than the same browser tab.

Thanks for your extremely prompt reply and look forward to you providing a fix.

Regards,

Bob

It would have puzzled the daylights out of me if I hadn't encountered something very similar a few years ago when another user was tinkering with something a bit outside the box. In short, the underlying lightbox script was seeing that YouTube address and saying, "Hey, I can show that in a lightbox!" Thanks for the favor, but in this case, no. ;)

Launch jAlbum and then Tools > Open Directories > Skin directory. Then open the skin's includes folder and replace folderiterate.inc with the attached version.

I'll put it in the next release, but that might be a while.
