Make Album and Upload is greyed out

Hello:

I have made a new album and added a directory of photos. "Make Album" and "Upload" buttons are greyed out.

Other albums do not have "Make Album" and "Upload" buttons greyed out.

I looked over the information in "Settings" and it all looks good - it is the same as the other albums except that the Image directory, Output directory and Address are changed, as expected.

What may I be doing wrong?

Ensure that the contents of "Image directory" and "output directory" are valid under Settings->General. That should resolve this.

The only time Make Album is grayed out is when you do not have a project open, and are sitting on Empty Project. See screenshot.

If you have opened any project, even an empty one (i.e., with no images or videos), Make Album is available.

Upload, of course, doesn't become active until the album has been made.

Pretty tough to do, actually. You have to go out of your way to create that condition! ;)

Jeff:

Are you sure? See attached screenshot. I am not sitting on Empty Project and Make album is not available to me.

FWIW, when I right clicked on my Photos2026, Upload/Manage was available. I clicked on it and I was able to upload the two directories. However all the other necessary files (index.html, etc) are not there so it does not work.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

First, give us a screenshot of the Settings > General panel.

Second, open the output directory - Tools > Open directories > Output directory - and attach the lifeboat.zip file to your post here.

But this is a situation that I can't reproduce, and that shouldn't be possible at all. I think you need to do some cleaning up. Please do a complete uninstall/reinstall of jAlbum. Don't skip any of these steps. It will take only a few minutes, and you won't lose anything:

Glad to hear it! The symptoms you were seeing fell into the "can't be happening" category, which usually means there are some old code modules hanging around. A clean reinstall resolves those.
